Why is the iPhone so amazing?
I don't see why the iPhone is so incredible. It is clearly an innovative device, probably the best in its class. However, i don't see why people always use it as a comparison to other phones. I guess it's a smartphone, but it's just doesn't seem that practical to pay for an expensive Smartphone plan when it lacks a tactile QWERTY keyboard. It seems like half the reason one would get an iPhone would be because it is an iPhone, when you could find a better smartphone with more capabilities for half the price.
I'm not an Apple hater, but i would personally rather have a good phone and a good iPod

It is a good phone and a good ipod, it is not however, a good business phone. I personally do not text or email a ton so the iphone is perfect for me, I can't imagine typing emails on it all day, that would be horrible.

I like the iPhone. I think it is a cool device. It has some BIG flaws (No 3G, No MMS, basic camera), but it is fun. Apple knows how to create hype and how to make money. We will have an iPhone 2 by the end of 2008. It will add 3G, MMS and a better camera (3MP?) and more memory (32GB?), but it will still have flaws. That is how they get you. Just when you have the coolest, newest toy, they introduce a better version. Apple is not the only company that does it, but they do it best.

"Wow! It's thin!" That's about it. If you look beyond the sleak design, it is not an amazing device. It only has one USB port and NO wireless card slot. And USB modems will not fit in the USB port due to its cover. It has no optical drive (although you can share drives with other computers on your network which is cool) and it is not a very powerful computer. For the price you'd pay for a MacBook Air, you could get a much better computer with multiple USB ports, an optical drive and more power. However, we live in a world of beauty. We would rather have a beautiful device with ZERO functionality than an ugly device with TONS of functionality.
