I hate to be the bearer of bad news....

Just got an email from my SE rep this morning, that states at&t pulled the plug on the handset.

The email didn't state exact specifics of why it was pulled, but still bad news none the less.

That is too bad. It seems like we never get any high-end phones (non-smartphones w/high megapixel camera. I had the SE k850 and was surprised that the 5 mp camera was not very good quality. It is more like a 2 at best. If At&t passed on this phone I am betting they had a good reason. Anyway if someone wants one they are better off buying an unlocked one.

I would agree....

I too carry an unlocked version, and you hit the nail on the head that pictures are not of 5mp quality. My wife, who has a w580 and I took a picture of the same thing, as you may have guessed the picture looked the same.

I checked the settings and my 850 was set on 5mp.

I would rather carry an unlocked device anyway. My WAP and MMS works great via the OTA settings given from the SE website. Now the $425 I paid for a blue model is a little excessive.....

Just fu#k!ng amazing! I was looking forward to a nice phone w/ Xenon (however you spell it) flash. A friend of mine as a 3.2 MP version on suncom and the cameria is AMAZING. Guess I'll wait for some lack-luster phones to be relseased and pick the "most advanced" of them. 👿

Probably AT&T wanted Sony Ericsson to remove the front facing camera and, unlike HTC, they declined...

Damn am I ever in trouble.....

I had a client listing that was signing up for the 850 in advance. My customer list was up to about 22 people that were comming into my store and upgrading with me. I have been talking about this phone to customers since last november.

I believe this will not work out well for At&t, people are through with the same old phones, even the new sony phone comming out, the flip isn't really special.

If Nokia was smart, they would release a few new phones in the comming quater and steal sony's thunder.

I am now wondering what I will do with this list I have been creating and what I will tell my customers. Maybe buy a few K790 and K800 and sell em to them instead??

This is crazy, I'm very, very di...

What a let down....& Now the Mobile solutions kiosk in the mall I work in is selling N95, N82's and they have a Sony 850 one of my customers is going to buy and cancel his At&t contract because they can get him one for under 600.00

Not good at all, and I taught those guys at mobile solutions about the Sony 850...But It's whatever when it comes to money, I don't blame them for buying these type of phones.

There really isn't that great of a selection when it comes to Smart/PDA/all around everything Phones.

-No Palm Devices
-Everyone has or had a Blackberry
-I-Phone, Don't get me started
-Blackjack is what it is

We need new, Overseas, All in one phones...

But that won't happen because our focus is on home soutions, I sell th...
