When Will The Phone Drought End?
I know that the first quarter is usually slow, but COME ON! The Palm Centro is supposed to come out tomorrow, but where are the rest of the phones? I'm getting bored with what we have. AT&T just keeps releasing the same phones in different colors, but nothing new. And today, we found out that the SE k850a has been cancelled. The Vu is supposed to be out every other Tuesday and it never comes. I can't wait for Q1 to end.

As long as people still think it is cool, they will still be sold. Although, AT&T has discontinued the silver model and I have heard rumors that the black model will soon be following. However, the blue and pink is here to stay. The only thing that will kill the V3 is Motorola's death IMO.

I gave up years ago wasting upgrades on low end phones. NOw I just buy them (lightly used if possible)
Bought an N82 with the Garmin SW package for $480 used. GREAT PHONE Picked up a used 6126 for the wife as well.
I don't hinnk ATT wants to support the complicated operting systems ands features of these phones. People don't like to "read the book" (see: Iphad)
Stop whining and go buy a phone unlocked and unbranded. Tiger Direct,Phone Source, HowardForums.com, and many more great phone sellers.
The market is too small for these phones to be subsidized.

People whine about the silliest things. There are all kinds of phones avilable out there. Do they really need ATT to buy them. I men if you can afford a $500 Phone you should be able to afford $600 for the same phone unbranded!!!!

They have a "ton" because almost every phone has at least two colors. On AT&T's website, it shows 99 post paid phones available. Not counting color, refurbished or memory (iPhone), there are only 35 different phones. That means that the other 64 phones are just different colors OR refurbished models of the 35 different models. I will admit that to an average consumer, 35 phone options is a "ton," but to someone who works in the industy and knows of all the great phones out there, 35 is nothing.
I do not mean to be rude or sound uptight, I just wanted to make a point. Plus, I did not know the extent of colors available until this post. That is a lot of different colors.
