OutOfOptions

I'm hoping someone can help me, Recently divorced, having to file bankrupsy, and really no where to go, my life is now back on track with a new job... But my credit score is like 400. Not exactly first rate.

When we were married we had at&t under my work discount, couldn't pay it... Still really can't....because it balooned into a 2000 bill and with collection fee's its about 2600. With 2 kids, husband, me, and mom. So with the bill and 1000.00 in forced cancellation fees it skyrocketed.

With at&t are there any other month to month services besides the GO Phone. Like T-Mobile I was looking, they have Flex pay, you can pick any regularly priced plan, any fetures, including bb and sidekick WITH NO CONTRACT. The only catch is that you h...

Unfortunately, your only options with AT&T are GoPhone or paying your debt and a HUGE deposit for contract service. Some stores will allow you to start service with no contract if you buy the phone full price or have your own. However, you'd still have to pay your debt and a HUGE deposit.

I have two suggestions for you.

1) Go prepaid. It may cost a bit more than a contract plan, but if you only need it for emergencies, it is pretty good.

2) Learn to live without a cell phone. Remember 15 years ago? No one had cell phones unless they were super rich or super important. We lived fine before cell phones and we can live fine without them.

Sorry if those answers did not help, but those are your only options as far as AT&T goes.

Could you tell me what I can say to them when I call and ask about the NO CONTRACT thing and buying a full priced phone?

It depends on the store. Not all of them do this. Usually, corporate stores are the only ones able to. I am a dealer and we cannot do it. I would call around and ask them the following:

If I buy a phone at full retail or bring my own AT&T phone, can I start service without a contract?

Like I said, you will still have to pay your debt and a HUGE deposit. There is NO way around it except GoPhone.
