Out-sourced support

Does AT&T outsource to india? I had a customer claim he was talking to someone in India via 611. I've never talked to a care rep outside of the US. Is this dude full of it?

I've never heard of it either. Maybe he got someone with an accent and thought he was talking to someone in India.

There are only two outsourced call centers and they both are in Canada (Red Deer and some other weird remote location).

there is one in india. it take overflow and after hours calls(it was set up under the original at&t wireless). there are three call centers in canada. there are a few others located in the U.S. that is ran by convergys.

yep. when i worked south east help desk we got calls from indian reps but they say they are from canada. also a few trainers went to india.

There was also one in Mexico (also run by ATT Wireless originally) but I do not know if its still active or not.

it still takes overflow from our puerto rico call center for spanish speaking customers.

Miami is our other Spanish Gate. We have nothing in Mexico as It was sold (wireless) before the merger was completed.

All of those you list were under old AT&T Wireless and they handled TDMA and Divestiture Markets. Their agreement was ended a year ago.
