New phones?
I am am getting ready to renew my contract & do the new phone thing. We have 3 phones on the family plan & we were thinking of adding the $30 unlimited text feature, but my wife & I both would prefer a QWERTY keyboard but right now the only phones available with those are the smartphones which require you to also get the media plan or whatever its called. Does anyone know if there is a chance AT&T will be getting a "texting phone" in the near future? I heard rumors that at the end of Febuary or beginning of March they were getting something like the LG Rumor that Sprint offers. Any insight on this would be great, we presently have 3 Motorola V557 & we are not very fond of them & the sooner we can get rid of them the better. They would only...

You can get smart phones without the data plan if you have the $30 messaging. If the store argues with you tell them to read the mail in rebate requirements.

You can get the discounts and rebates on 2 of the smartphones that ATT carries with the $30 text package. The 2 are the Blackjack II and the Pantech Duo. (If a store has any of the original Blackjacks, you can get the discounts and rebates on it too with the text package).
