AT&T has some Wireless Technician II jobs open in my area that I applied for. I was wondering if anyone on hear works for them? I would like to know a little more about the job than what is posted on the website. I would also like to know if there is a way to check on the status of my application? Any input appreciated. Thanks 🙂 🙂 🙂

Tech 2's (as we call them) are the people who are responsible for the maintenance of cell sites. A lot of the job duties are market dependent. I have seen some managers who will only hire someone that has experience with the equipment that is used in the market (Nokia, Siemens, Lucent, Nortel or Ericsson), and some who will hire people off the street and everything in between.

A "reasonable" manager will hire someone who has skills/knowledge in any of the following (the more the better): DS1/DS3 install and/or testing, electronics, RF, electrical (AC or DC) or computer networking.

mikebb278, thanks for the info. Is this something that I could go to the local retail store to find out more info or is this something hr does at a corporate level? I have a 4 year degree in avionics and a Fcc license so I hope I have a chance. I really want to stay in the area.
