Just swap them and go... You should only have to worry about updating the IMEI if one phone is 3G and the other one isn't... OR... if one phone is a PDA/Smartphone and the other one isn't.

They can change the imei in the store... it takes maybe 2 minutes. Just set up the account with the phone and change the imei. Now if you do that than than you won't be able to get the rebate on the new phone you buy. The phone needs to be active on that number until the rebate is processed.

Don't listen to that. Don't change the IMEI, this way you can still do your rebate.

I agree. Att is not aware of the IMEI on my N82. I don't see a reason to call about it. What is the benefit of ATT having your IMEI?

In this case it's a mail in rebate thing because of a new phone. Whatever line gets added needs to have that IMEI registered to it, that's it. They only have one of my thirty something I've used since I started.

You will need to keep the IMEI for the Blackjack II on the new line in order to get the rebate. If you are going to get the data package to go along with the Blackjack II you will also need to put the same IMEI on your existing line so that you can get the correct data package.

Precisely AvgJoe! ! ! I've had my N95-3 since Dec. 12 and AT&T doesn't have my IMEI #!
And this doesn't effect my 3G service neither! I just put my 3G sim card in and bingo!
