SIM Card Question (32/64)

I have a Motorola® V551. Are my text messages stored on my phone or on the SIM card? This phone can not store very many text messages before it starts screaming to delete some. Would the 64 SIM chip help me any with that?

SMS and MMS messages are stored on the SIM. The 64K Sim will help a little bit but most of the space on the 64K SIM is for the additional network settings.
