Now that changing carriers is all the rage, and given that ATT is being taken over by Cingular, does anyone have an opinion on coverage in Oregon? I am tempted to change to T-Mobile. Suze

Cingular doesn't have any towers in Portland but they do roam off att's Gsm towers ( virtualy useless) and T-mobiles which is pretty well covered. but we'd love to have you switch over to T-mo!

my husband just made the change, and he's testing all the blank spots that att have. If he gets coverage where I currently don't them I'm switching immediately to T-Mo.

You know, its funny.. I get customers from portland and area ALL the time, they sure don't think its useless. I work for AWS. You people need to do some research before saying crap about other companies.
T-Mobile will be FORCED back to the bidding table once AWS is bought by Cingular, because it'll be in a terrible position.. right now it uses Cingular to expand its own coverage in many areas, and suddenly won't have much coverage in the west, because Cingular won't need to have T-Mobiles areas, since AWS has a full TRUE nationwide network, not a network relying on other providers. 😛

t-mobile has not made a profit yet since coming to america. they spent all their money on Catherine Zeta Jones and cant afford anything else. most likely they will be gone within a year or two.
Cingular would be foolish to not buy ATTW and most likely will, thus making them the #1 mobile carrier in subscribers and network coverage. Once you see the already expanded coverage maps on Feb. 2nd, you will know where Cingular has spent their money - on their network, not on an actress.
and form wht i heard, the plans will be phenomenal, not only in value, but in lack of roaming charges, national mobile to mobile, and other goodies...
