$250 refurb iphones from AT&T, pretty sweet
A: they didn't know how to activate/operate it
B: They need the newest first, and when that need is fulfilled, they need newer.
C: Slight malfunction, which is why there's a factory "refurb".
I'm still sold on the price and phone....but I gotta switch companies.

plus, with a $151 dollar difference between the two, I think the refurb is the ONLY way to get an iPhone.
It's still $50 too much.
And I'm very, very happy with my N95!
And by the way AvgJoe has the N82 not the N85, and he paid about $100 less than what I paid.
But the point is both AvgJoe and myself are very haPPy.
I'll probably get a Sprint BB Curve until late 2009 when I'm out of contract, then get the iPhone 2. If the price is reasonable. I'm not a high end phone user, so I don't think I need all the nokia features and whatnot. I love film, and a widescreen iPhone seems ideal. I also LOVE the idea of having a safari browser. My big problem is I text 1500 a month, and AT&T plans are retarded as of right now with texting on the iPhone. I hope Apple pays to get out of contract with AT&T and makes a CDMA version for everyone.
I also thought it was generally agreed upon that Apple went with AT&T instead of Verizon because AT&T was willing to give them control of the product and pricing and Verizon wasn't?
Verizon iPhone: Yes, you're right. But I don't know if Apple is happy with AT&T sales right now. Rumor mill stuff, i haven't read any hard facts on the subject.

look who's talking mister N85. (799 brand new...sheesh!)
Excuse me? I paid $480 for a used 3 week old N82 WITH the $99 Garmin package off a guy on HoFo.
I certainly did not pay $799. No one did. You can buy those phones for over $200 LESS than your quote.
Do some research man. If people would have done research many would own an unlocked N95 or N82 instead of the iPHad.

I don't know if you can honestly compare the two. I think both the phones are for different markets, really.
I agree you cannot compare the two on any level. The Nokia beats the iphone in every area and costs less then $100 more without a special data plan or contract.
Iphone is for the young look at me market. The Nokias are for the "Who cares what others think or have, I need function in every area for the dollar" phone

Meh. Different strokes. I mean, most people probably returned it cause

D> They got sucked in and realized it wasn't all that and they spent far too much for an incomplete product.

That kinda sucks, considering that people payed $440 just for 4GB when it first came out.
Who's fault id THAT?
I would say those who stood in linie to pay $600 for a phone that cost $400 a few weeks later were had as well. But people never learn. They have to be the first to have it. They have to have approval from their peers and pay dearly for it.

aren't you the one who seeks the WOW factor of having the very expensive unlocked phone noone else has? i'd think you'd be the last person to say something like that.
But I don't flash the phone around. Most people I know have never seen it and really don't care. Cell Phones aren't the talk of the day in my world. I bought it becasue of its FUNCTIONS. Anyone will tell you the N82 is ugly and not a fashion statement by any stretch.
I paid for function not form. The WOW factor is mine and mine alone.
