Yeah she dropped it as she was getting out of the car. I ran over her 6126. It still worked but the LCDs are toast. Since we have been month to month I looked at ATT's site to maybe get a pair of phones. There is nothing there worth paying $36 activation fee plus charges and waiting on rebates for and we have to get two phones.I don't need one.

So off to Ebay. $75 later another 6126. At least we have a back up battery and can use the broken phone as a charger for it/ LOL

We were going to get a 6555 but the 3G is causing battery life issues. HUGE complaint regarding that phone. Battery life. NO refub N75s left either.

1. If you are a current customer, there are no activation fees. If you have been month to month any upgrade fees should be waived.

2. Why do you have to get two phones? Upgrade one. Put one in contract, keep one month to month.

3. I've seen no 6555 battery problems. As far as the N75s go, that had an awful battery life.

Perhaps a store next time, so that they can answer these questions for you. Obviously the website did not help you any.

If he got two phones then the two upgrade fees would equal $18. There is a chance that they would be waived, but only if he's spending a lot on service.

I wish more people shopped like Joe. We sell service primarily, and phones to people who need them. Hopefully with the Wireless Consumer Protection Bill we'll see more people buying their phones at retail in the US, and the prices coming down on them.

If he's going month to month he likely has a waived fee. Usually I only see them now if it's in the 20 to 24 period of a contract.

That's true, I think people will still want free phones. The average consumer will be very unwilling to pay, especially pay three hundred dollars or more, for a cell phone.

I agree. People like "free". I have been month to month since the "free" T637 was offered. Once in awhile I will see if ATT has any good deals and I use the site as I have found CSRs inconsistent. The ATT site wants to charge me $36 for two phones when I only need one.

My service is as follows

550 shared minutes for $60 plus $15 Unlimited data on one phone. Junk fees another $15.00

I think you meant from a retailer. I have never paid retail for a phone. Mostly I look for lightly used phones from those who buy phones every 6 months or so. LOL. Or those who buy an unbranded phone and use their upgrade to get a phone they will sell on Ebay. Thats how I bought the 61...

Unfortunately there is no ATT store in Myrtle Beach. HTC resells ATT here and I would rather stay with the Provider rather then a reseller.

When I "upgraded" on the net the $18 per phone act fee was applied AND I could not go any further until ...
