Using the v551 as a modem

I'm trying to help a customer set up his laptop to dial in to a landline number using his v551. We've got mobile phone tools 2.0, which allows us to dial up any common phone line using it's provided dialer, however all other programs are getting a "no response from host", meaning it isn't communicating with the handset as it should be. The drivers are updated correctly, so I'm at a bit of a loss. Any suggestions?

Is DUN (Dial-Up Networking) set up correctly/completely? I hope the connection's listed under Network Devices?

Yep, the device is listed and working properly with no conflicts. "Wait for dial-tone" is turned off. I know there has to be an option somewhere, since Mobile Phone Tools allows it to dial as a normal phone would.

Nope, and we're trying to avoid using the data side. We want to use the dial-up function of the phone, simply to dial in to another computer.
