the new ipod touch
Now that we know that apple will release a 3g iphone within the next few months, does anyone predict that it might be possilbe that the next ipod touch could come with edge and/or 3g technology that could be used on at&t's network via data plan only?

I wouldn't think so...They'd have a hard time selling the difference between that and the iPhone. The touch needs to stay on wifi to keep it's market segmentation.
I think that if the iPod Touch had a radio unit built in it & ran on At&t's towers for data then it would undermine the iPod. Too many kings of the jungle in one niche. If the iTouch were to run on At&t's towers for data, then why would you get that instead of the iPhone?

the future of the touch is this: stay the same, add gigs. It's not going to get near the data plan game at all. It's got enough with wifi, it'll stay wifi.
