Get out of Verizon Contract to go to ATT? HOW?

Ok, I would put this on the Verizon board but they would kill me.

My Verizon contract is up in July. I would like to get out of it in now or at least in June when the 3G or the Enterprise Iphone software is released.

Any ideas on how to do it without paying the service? Tell you the truth I probably need to switch before that because my crappy Q phone is dieing.

Can I switch now to ATT, get a Blackjack, and then by an Iphone in June with no additional cost? If I can do that, I may switch today, if I could get out of my contract withe V. Then give the Black Jack to my wife.

Thanks!

The cost of an iphone doesn't change whether its purchased with contract or outright. Get a discount on a phone, use it, and sell it. Or keep it as a back-up.

I don't think there's truly a way now to get out of it without paying an ETF. There used to be loop holes but they are closed up. VZW has a variable ETF right now (for customers that signed up on that type of contract)... perhaps your ETF is like $50 at this point? You should check that.

It's only a one month difference. I would just wait and let Apple/AT&T fix the bugs of the 3g iPhone before you jump ship. Or wait half a year. Remember what Apple did with their current gen iPhone? Came out with a model with higher storage in addition to their price cut.

I would wait.

I might just get a new Q bat and wait then. Checking now to see how much they are online.

You know what I am thinking. I should buy a non-iphone and then sell and get an Iphone anyway. It will help cover the cost of the phone.

I could make an easy $100 this way with numerous phones if not more if I really researched it.
