Not liking v220 - v180 any better
I let my husband talk me into the Motorola v220 when we migrated to cingular. So far I can not get calls in or out when I am in the house, get static everytime I try to make a call so bad that I can not hear the phone ring on the other end (regardless of signal strength), when on a call the signal cuts in and out, I have yet to get full bars anywhere in Sacramento, CA and had better coverage with my TDMA phone. I have had every person I know with Cingular test our house and they can get a signal with no problems. Since I am less than one week into the 30 return period I am wondering if the V180 is any better? I do not really care about the camera. That was the selling point for the husband not me. The more features a phone has, the worse the reception tends to be, I've noticed.

I totally agree. Who needs a camera phone, especially when you have invested in a real digital camera (I have a Kodak EasyShare 4MP)

Ive never spent less than $150 on a wireless phone with several different carriers, and never once had a problem with reception.
Then everybody makes it sound like someone elses free phones are going to be so much better then our free phones... yet they are usually made by the same manufacturers... does this make sense to anyone?
