Sony Z500
Has anybody else been having problems with this phone not wanting to send mms? It seems like almost every one of those phones we sell here, over half of the people come back because some feature doesn't work, normally the mms. I know this is their first flip, but come on...
I spent 3 hours with one customer today with that phone, and two more just like it.. all settings correct (checked with tech on every phone) and still a no go. Called customer service and checked out that account, they said all systems go on their end, tech support said the same. Finally exchanged the phone for the v551. Worked perfect.
So whats the deal? Any ideas????

I tell my customers if MMS or MediaNet isn't working after 3 days bring it back. Very few phones will be able to access data services of any sort straight out of the box. It takes at least 72 hours for ALL of the software updates to happen.

sony ericson phones are crap as always. you were smart and switchin gthem to the v551. im a 3rd party rep and we just got the 500. i dont push them unless they have to have it.

My parents both just got Z500a's and had the same problem. No MMS, no web, nothing. According to the customer service rep, no messaging services (not even pay-per-use, what they wanted) were added when the phones were activated. He added it, they power cycled the phones, and it was fine.
P.S. Now that these features are working, my parents are happy with the Z500's. The Sony-Ericsson user interface is by far the best of any cell phone I've ever used. I used to have an SE T616 on AT&T, but switched to the Moto V551 when we switched to the Cingular plan. I hate it, and I'm REALLY hoping the SE S710a comes out before my 30-day return period is up!
