What would you change to the phone lineup?

I have a question for everyone. More geared towards the reps, but everyone is welcome.

What would you change about the current phone lineup?

My suggestions:
1. Get rid of the Nokia 2610 and replace it with a little bit bigger phone that doesn't have a mirror screen.
2. Stop carrying 4 or 5 colors of the phones. If you want different colors, make it no more than 2 max. Sell phones that have easily replaceable shells if you really need to have every color in the rainbow.
3. Don't launch new devices unless the accessories are ready. It's stupid to not have a case for a phone a month after it launches. A little organization between departments can go a long way.
4. A jitterbug type device could be used for seniors and little kids, without the older people having to come in every 2 days to get lessons on how to enter/delete a phone number.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure you guys/girls will have more to add.....

i agree 100% with what u just said ....

other things are

all signage should state CORPORATE ATT STORE

the floors should have a path etched into it so the customer can follow it to the sign in sheet

a pin that all employees must wear at all times stating " The FREE phone is at SPRINT!"

all opus equipped computers can process a transaction in 2 mins or less

NO CHECKS EVER AGAIN!!!!!!

a way to contact the rep that misqouted the employee over the phone so we can really figure out what the hell they said .....

No internet returns allowed in store

saturday morning meets are no longer mandatory

free everthing for employees... phones when we want bluetooths accessories att wireline service uverse ..... every ATT pro...

I agree with pretty much everything you want. We definitely need an easy, basic phone to replace the 2610. Something along the 6010 would be great. The new Pantech breeze is supposed to be a Jitterbug type phone for us to sell. It is supposed to be out sometime this summer. I especially agree with you about the accessories. Hard to sell the phone if a customer can't get anything for it.

There is a non PDA QWERTY phone due out in June (according to the roadmap).

Java restrictions suck.

Nokia is supposed to release a bunch of new phones in 3rd and 4th quarter. The rep said some may make it late in the 2nd quarter. All the nokia's have had a price drop in my market, so it's not hard for me to see it happening sooner than later.

yes, the java restrictions do suck. i got the w580 and flashed it to sony specs and everything worked fine. in at&t dev central it says that the java restrictions is for 'security'.

Eh, I guess you could download a java malware app, most likely bs though. The LG's java restrictions are easy to remove with a little BitPIM action.

For example Google Maps, every time you move the screen to see another part of the map it will say something to the effect of:

"This application is trying to access the internet"

And it gives you one of two options,

"Allow this once"
"Do not allow"

It's annoying because you need to keep telling it to allow every time it tries to transfer data. Calculating one simple trip on Google Maps might make you allow it 5 or 6 times, it's extremely annnoying.

Phones without restrictions (like the WinMo PDAs) will usually have a 3rd option that says:

"Allow, don't ask me again this session"

So it asks you, but after that you don't have to worry about until the next time you open Google Maps.

I'd like to see an at&t branded Nokia multimedia phone that DOESN'T have the FM Radio taken from it.
