so there so called 30day trial period states you could get a full refund if you return anything withing 30days.. what they do not tell you is that if you want to exchange your phone for a different model within 30 days; vzw charge $20 for activiating the new phone..and now they charge $20 when you upgrade your phone while att charges $18.00. Can't wait till see the day vzw gets get left behind in dust behind att.

did you work for an agent? at&t(cingular) has never charged 2 upgrade fees. You must have worked for a shady agent.

hell yea a shady agent...all my bosses where from pakistan and you could never pronounce there names correctly. My contact list for the company looked like bin ladens phone contact list. very greedy, i was just giving sh!t because I know for a fact that VZ does not charge an up fee unless you buy on line, and if you do, fudge ya for taking money out of my pocket. And I don't know of any carrier that charges to exchange your phone, unless you cut the bar code or where missing the manual or the charger.

Were you in a corp store or agent?

We don't charge the 18 in store, but it does come on the bill unless it's waived for one of many reasons...

You could kinda say ATT has left Verizon in the dust considering ATT has over 5 million more customers than Evil Verizon, and that could change even more when the 3G iPhone comes out, ATT might get even more, and the margin between the two companies will grow even bigger.

Especially if the subsidized $199.99 3G iPhone with 2 year rumor is true... we're going to see some serious switching.

Well, it won't be too, too long before that rumor is found out to be valid or not.

Word is also that there is going to be a 32GB iPhone.

Don't forget HTC is having some sort of announcement Monday, in Barcelona, Spain, I think, perhaps details will emerge on the TyTn II's successor. I'm hearing things like VGA displays, that's nice.

Yes, if you decide that you want to change your equipment within your 30 day WFG you will in fact be charged a $20 exchange fee. That is because VZW can't sell those phones as new once they are opened and customers really need to decide what phone they actually want before making the purchase. First they want a red phone and then decide no they wanted an orange phone. Well, the exchange should not be based on color choices, I have issue if it that the phone selected does not have the features required, but if you buy a car without A/C can you just take it back after driving a few thousand miles for one that does? Any way- the $20.00 Upgrade fee only applies to EARLY upgrades- those people that have not fulfilled the 20 months required fo...

why don't we call for what it is - verizon now charges $20.00 restocking fee when you exchange your phones.. att truly gives 30 day trial period. But the thought of buying a phone and then paying $20 simply because i didn't like one feature on the phones is being greedy and unfair to customers.

I am not saying it should not be waived under some circumstances, Can we all agree that people should research a little more before they buy? Most of the readers on phonescoop are great researchers and know what they want before they sign on the dotted line. But as long as the "restocking" fee is disclosed the the customer, it is not unfair. I will say that since the fee is new, I am sure that not all customers are getting the full discloser. And I am sure a lot of credits will be issued for loyal customers.
