Upgrade Question
The service I have is a family plan - Region FT 500/5000NW, $9.99 for second phone.
One of the phones is TDMA (the upgradable one) and the other one is GSM which is locked in until October of this year. When I converted to family talk I did not purchase a new phone for the old line (which in retrospect was a mistake), therefore I'm not locked into a contract any longer on the TDMA phone.
How will an upgrade affect my second line, since it is locked in a contract until October.
Is it possible to get a GSM phone without extending the contract?
If you were to upgrade your TDMA phone, it will NOT affect your GSM phone. Contracts are done on a per phone basis, so what is done to one phone will not affect the other.
Once you upgrade, you can change your plan. With the GSM Nation plan, you can get a lot more bang for the buck.
Will
Do I understand this right that I can switch from the TDMA service to GSM service and stay on the same plan, even though the plan is not being offered any longer?
If it's the same plan, then second line will remain at $9.99, if a new plan then the second line will be $19.99.
If I have to go with a new plan then I would definitely go with the Nation Plan!
Since your 2nd line will be out of contract in October, you could wait until July(21 months) and upgrade both at the same time. Which means they will also both come out of contract at the same time in the future.
Just because your phon is out of contract, does not mean that you HAVE to upgrade on that date.
