I am going up grade my phone soon and with this in mind i am looking for my first pda/smartphone. I am not looking to invest a ton of change so i will opt for a refub. While i deeply desire to have wifi as an option, i think that this is out. Right now i am looking at the Blackjack II and the Moto Q. I have mixed feeling about them as i have seen different customer reviews. I also will not be in a major Tx city so i will not be able to use the fast web connection. i love the idea of using MSoffice apps. I have been told that i can keep using the media bundle package i have with my current plan with the blackjack II.
is this true or do i need to up to a pda plan.
what do i really need and what is just premier or preferred? which phone...

You are required to get the PDA plan. Q has some advantages, 32 GB memory slot for one. It is larger thought.

And if you're getting a refurb, be sure to get insurance. Refurbs only have a three month warranty.

we are currently on a FamilyTalk Nation 2100 Rollover & Unlimited Night/Weekend & Unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile Minutes and the MEDIA WORKS BUNDLE. we are going to upgrade both phones. she text's on ocassion. looks a email on web sometimes. the email i would read email on line i think. we will probably go with a free phone. will go with a refub, but i do carry the insurance becuase i have been a phone killer. One former at&t guy had told me that we could keep things basically going with out going with the pda plan because in our area we can not take advantage of all the feature (spee i think). stopped working for cingular/att about 6 months ago so thing probably have changed. IF we move to the pda plan dow we still need the media worksbundle,...

No problem. Internet plans of any type are not typically shared. If you had media works it would not have covered her line (did she have her own?) so she needs something depending on what she used before.

Gotcha. i went on line and looked at the full bill and saw exactly what you were talking about.
she does have her own line so we will need to ck to see what she wants or does not want. she occasonally downloads a ringtone or background. and she has been talking about adding a line for our daughter so i guess that will all come into play.'
thanks again. you have truely been helpful.

😉 oh and i may have to just go with the balckjack II as their are moto q in stock when i checked the web. will wait for a bit and see though.

Diboll, just 12 miles south of lufkin. i get about 1 bar on my phone at the house most of the time. they just put in a new tower, or sos says the text they sent me, but service seems worse. i drive 7 miles in to diboll and service is fine. same goes with lufkin.

that's weird, it threw my post in the middle of yours...
my response should have been 'you can't have a media net package with a blackjack but you are not required to get a pda plan, but to get any type of rebate back you must have unlimited messaging or a pda package.'

i guess i'll have to go with the pda plan. not sure what it will run, but i want to do more than just text.

$30 but totally worth it, I had the $15 Media Net plan and I pay double now, but I love my Blackjack II.

I have the blackjack II. It is pretty good. The disadvantage to the q9 is that the phone itself is very large and even bigger with the extended battery in it(which you will definitely be rocking on a daily basis if you buy they phone).
Still to this date, the curve is my favorite smart phone. Easier to use and has better battery life. I'll admit the 3g internet is sweet, but why not just hold out for the blackberry bold slated to be released in a few months.

well, i get a better discount if i do it now. additionaly me phone needs to be put to rest.
