I just heard the word that Dallas will be an official test market for UMTS. The rumors going around on it say around March. I'm hoping everyone can chime in with expectations or predictions about how this will affect things. I'm hopefull for market specific features and incentives for people to try out UMTS.

What phones/products would they test? I am excited about the new oppertunites this might provide, but will Cingular nickel and dime you to death for the added features? I hope not.

I have no idea what kinds of phones or features would be available for this trial or would be needed for it. I would imagine that they would offer a few limited time rates for data simply to encourage people to use the service. It would also a great time to test out the mobitv service.

Test market?

why dont you call ATT Wireless and get yourself a A845 from Motorola now? They have UMTS active for customers for almost 6 months

You can't get any new phone or services on ATTWS anymore, only Cingular, that ship sailed a few months ago

Ogo is not UMTS. Ogo is not even voice. it's only for messaging.

🙄
Try to have some knowlage of what you are talking about before you speak. OGO is a special device for text and email. there is no relation to UMTS. that site and Telephone number that Nokomac correctly provided describes the 3G service and how to aquire the service. it is available to any customer who lives in the service area. 3G is a ready and available service

AND, we're talking about Cingular deploying their UMTS network in Dallas. Keywords: Cingular, UMTS, Dallas. No ATT. No ATT UMTS in Dallas. Use your own brain cells instead of making us think for you.

You are just the cleverest person, use my own brains cells, did you ever stop to think that the UMTS network in Dallas IS OWNED BY CINGULAR WIRELESS. dont be surprised when you can find those phones at some cingular stores, like i did in detroit.
