International Text Messaging

Does anyone one know when Cingular will get up to speed on international text messaging. I am mostly concerned with UK. On AT&T GSM, you could exchange texts with 5 UK carriers, Verizon now allows you to exchange with 4 UK carriers, Cingular is in the ice age as you can only exhange texts with 2 UK carriers (O2 and T-Mobile UK)...what is worse is that messages from UK come in through a text service ('E-Mail' address shown, etc) which eats up about 1/3 of the text data from UK so you do not get complete message.

On a side note, when I get text messages from friends in Pakistan, complete message comes through just as a USA message would come in?

Any help from you guys would be fabulous....

How do you know this? I have sent texts to friends on Vodaphone with no replies. Called them and they did not receive message? Can you explain the 'E-Mail' portion of the message that takes up 1/3 of the text? I can try to forward a text to you or take a picture of it???

Thanks for your help....
