No way, I rather AT&T not even think about T-Mobile, I prefer them separate.

That would mean that DT would have to sell it and they have mentioned a number of times they do not want to sell T-mobile USA. Moreover, the regulators would never allow such a deal to go through without Billions of dollars worth of divestitures and if that were to happen then we would have another ALLTEL just with GSM assets, which does not make sense. Financially it will not make sense either given the divestitures.

That wouldn't be a smart move at all, because unlike Vz buying Alltel, AT&T wouldn't gain anything from the deal. Think about it, Vz wants to get those rural areas where they don't have service.
Now, when was the last time you were in a rural area in which your phone roamed with Tmobile? lol This has never happened to me. Don't get me wrong, I had Tmo for a year and I loved their good service in the city. It's just a shame their signal is weak indoors (grocery stores in particular)
