alltel roaming.

has anyone heard what might happen to at&ts agreement with alltel for gsm roaming once verizon takes over?

My guess is AT&T will buy the GSM off of Verizon.

I think Verizon chooses who it will sell to, and I'll bet that T-mobile will take it.

Good point, at which T-Mobile may turn around and sign a roaming agreement.

Whatever agreements Alltel and AT&T currently have, Verizon will be legally required to honor them for the tenure of the contracts.

Verizon may keep these assets. From what I understand they were a real cash cow for Alltel.

as far as roaming goes, i checked gsmworld.com to see where alltel owned gsm for roaming and it was mid-america, midwest etc.

it'd be nice if ANYTHING gsm worked here in the western part of VA.

at&t is okay and t-mobile is way under par

its just hard to sell when people get almost all of the coverage they want because of CDMA here.
