SBC Signed a national contract with Verizon Wireless
Kind of funny. Cingular's parent company signed a national contract with Verizon, something like 800 phones. They said that vzw better suited their needs.

That was in California. This is not uncommon because landline service areas don't always mirror cell coverage for companies. i'm sure that they have to be using them in an area that Cingular might not provide coverage. I use VZW and it has worked great almost everywhere but it was horrible in parts of Kentucky and West Virginia.
