Hi, i recently purchased a Nokia N95-3 from ebay and I sold my old Moto Q9h in the process. I called ATT today to add the unlimited Media Max plan, the $15.00 one that only includes internet. at the time i was using my old phone, a old nokia, so they told me they needed that IMEI to prove that i wasnt trying to use the lower package on the Q9h. well, i told him that i had purchased an unlocked phone and that it was waiting at my house but i wanted to go on and add the plan (it wouldnt let me do it on the internet due to the old imei)

The system is IMEI dependent when it comes to data plans. If the system has the IMEI of a PDA phone, the system will not allow you to add the $15 MediaNet package, only one of the PDA packages. That is why the rep insisted on getting the IMEI.

Crackberry is right about the internet on an unlocked phone. Very often, you will need to go to the internet settings and set them up for ATT internet. You can find the settings for a Nokia phone on the web at www.att.com/wireless, click on personal, click on support and then look to see if there is a similar phone listed to the one you have. the settings should be the same.
