Retention department packages/suggestions?

MRsn

Thanks in advance for help anyone able to provide.

Current service:
2 lines. Been with ATT 4 years now. Paid on time. Have not upgraded or changed anything in 4 years. 1,250 anytime mins + 7 pm night and weekends. USED to have FREE incoming TXT, now 20 cents a piece - which is one reason I am looking to change plans!

HELP NEEDED: What retention plans are available?

I need early night and weekend, and messaging. However on current ATT plans, it would bump me $17 + $30 for messaging = $47 (i do get a tad more for that money).

***Before I call cancellation dept, what do I need to know about available plans AND any specific ways to approach the rep?****

How many daytime minutes do you need? Do you have an AT&T home phone? Do you use outgoing messaging (a tad more = unlimited messaging)? I belive someone mentioned you could get up to an additional 200 anytime minutes on most plans with retention. You need to give us more information.

Hi. Yes. I think i can do with either 900-1000 anytime + early night and weekends, or approx 1600 Anytime with regular 9pm nights and weekends.

I did hear about 200 minutes being a possibility. Can they do anything about TXT messages or early night and weekends?

Also, am I going to have to pay new activation charges?

Thanks for all your replies.

No new activation charges if you are just switching plans. They also usually waive upgrade fees as well if you are in good standing. I do not know if they do anything on text but it is doubtful.

By upgrade fees you mean for new phones? They quoted me price which is same or higher than a new customer would receive. Also, I currently have biz plan (10%) off, however work situation changed for my wife since 4 yrs ago, now I have a new code which would give us 14%, can customer service change that, or do i have to open account through the HR link?

New code needs to be done via website or go to a store. Upgrades are typically the same price as for new service. What was higher?

That's great. I supposed I Have to come to a realization that i am going to start paying more for the phone//sms than in the past.

When it comes to picture messaging, BB can't be used without the BB plan, right? What other phones require data plan? Does the Q?

The BB Curve can use pay per use media net to send picture messages. Same with all the other smart phones. If you dont get the internet it may not give you all discounts though.
