we're only open till 5, but we haven't even seen anyone in 3 hours. I think its a waste of money to keep a store open and waste the electricty and wages. It would be good morale if ATT/dealers gave us off more often. I'm sure the call centers are pretty empty now and the CEO is definatly with his family, why can't we have off?

I myself enjoyed working on the 4th. I am a retailer in a mall. we closed early for the holiday at 6pm instead of 9pm but i was slammed all day. Besides i would rather work than go out and celebrate yet another holiday that peopled have ruined. I mean really we celebrate the 4th of July now, its not Independence day anymore which is so stupid. Noone cares about the meaning behind the holiday anymore why its called Independence day. Everyone wants to get a good deal at a stores sales, drink beer and watch fireworks and not even give a thought to why we can even to those things thanks to the people that fought for it.

I loved every minute of my day.

Sold 3 activations all with $100 deposits
3 upgrades all BB with BB package and
$350...

Not sure where you live but where I live more celebrate for the right reasons than not. Same as where I grew up in San Diego. Maybe because it was a military town (mainly Navy) but it was always appreciated.

I spend time between El Paso and Lubbock Texas now. El Paso is DEFINATELY a military town with Ft. Bliss being right here. Lubbock seems to just have more "midwest" values where people seem to appreciate things that are earned.

I can understand that. I live in South Carolina myself which is rednecks and drunks and drunk rednecks lol. But i work in North Carolina and everyone is all about the beer and fireworks here thats all i heard yesterday ya know were going to drink beer and watch fireworks. It is just saddenin to me to see how most people dont take the values of the holidays seriously. Christmas has turned into a day of getting presents and eating food other than celebrating the Life of Jesus, who is why we are here.

Its good to hear that yall are celebrating for the right reasons out there. i wish more had done it here where i live but that is never the case.

Well I work in a small town. This AT&T store, Wal-Mart, fast food and CVS was the only things open. The strip mall our store is in was closed, except us. We had a $16.28 deposit for the day.

Sorry you don't like drinking beer and celebrating just for the sake of having a good time, to each his own.

My wife was a combat medic for the 101st and spent a year in Iraq. We know exactly why we celebrate July 4, the 4th of July and Independance Day...

Im not saying that everyone does that but thats what i hear. I like to have a drink and celebrate just as much as the next person does but i dont believe in celbrating unless you do it right. Just cause people are shooting off fireworks is no reason for me to have a drink.

Those are the days that i spend with friends family loved ones, my girlfriend just like i did for Independence day. I dont have to have a drink to have a good time no matter what the occassion

I would also like to say thank you to your wife for her dedication and service overseas in Iraq and wherever else she may have been. So thank you to her

I wanted to spend it with family...my sisters husband is deployed and shes pregnant..instead i sat there 17 minutes in between calls and every call was a question that could have been answered the next day and 17 out of the 18 calls i took they were drunk. I got off and the family event was over so I went home watched some TV and went to bed and up to work again the next day. At least the pay will be worth it.
