I heard that only the 16 gig iphone will be in white or black and the 8 gig will be black only, is this true? please someone who works for AT&T and who as seen one.

That is true. If you go to Apple's website it even shows you. It was announced at the WWDC by Steve Jobs as well. The 16 is the only one the be offered in white.
