I have been with them for three years with the same number, I just got a call on my home number from my wife who said when she called mu cell that a girl answered I told her my phone did not ring, so I hang up with her and call my own number and yes indeed this girl does answer and she says she just got this number from AT&T. Tell me how in the HELL does AT&T give someones number who has been with them for three years to someone else? And before someone ask, NO I am not behind on my bill, I have NEVER paid my bill late ever. I am own the phone with them now and they wont my to come in to a store to fix there f^&k up. I told them I did not have to come in to a store for them to screw it up. Has anyone else? I was just told as I am typing that they show my sim card disconnected, I said no **** you cant have two sims with the same number and then she tells me to relax and acts like she is doing me the favor by trying to fix there screw up.

There are SO many Crazy stories I have been hearing about them and their customer service latley.

This DOES NOT surprise me at all, especially the attitude customers get from AT&T employeees, who for some reason, think they are Gods.

I have a personal story that I cannot release yet that will bring the house down...

Good Luck....

& To you AT&T, the bigger they are, the harder they fall, your day will come...yes it will

I doubt he has a story. It's funny how the iPhone launches today and all the "people" come out of the woodworks to complain about stuff. Stuff that has nothing to do with the iPhone. Kinda like they are trying to cram the boards up and push the iPhone stuff to the second page or something...

I definitely know how frustrated you are but you wont solve any problems by yelling at someone you just make it worse for yourself.. try reading notes and seeing what happened on an account when someone is screaming at you. It is a bit tough. Calm down a bit and they will look into it but that is almost impossible unless you changed your phone number not your sim card more than 59 days ago... also... check to see if you have call forwarding enabled on your phone too you may have accidently set up call forwarding. Let us know what happened!

WOW did any of you people read my post before you came up with this crap? Like I said in the FIRST sentence I have has the same number for THREE years. And as for the call forwarding, Like I said I called my number and a girl answered and said she just got this number from AT&T. I bet you must work for them, thats why you are quick to blame everything but what is really to blame, AT&T just screwed up really bad, and for my troubles I have to drive to a store that is about 23 miles one way to get a new sim card but hey the rep told me that she would make sure they did not charge me for it. 🙄 I am not one to get on here and bitch, as I usually on get on here to ask a question but my god, I have never heard of anything like this and for m...

Well, call forwarding will push the call YOU make to another phone number, so your point is null and void on that. But yes, that sucks that you have to do that. They should offer you a credit. I worded for VZW awhile back and I had an incident happen to me that was very similar to yours (two numbers on one ESN). It didn't work the same way yours did (neither phone worked) but we figured it out, corrected it, and gave my customer a months free service. You should call the retention department and get reimburst for gas at least 😕

I would have been happy for someone to have just said we are sorry that this happened to you. But I sill dont get the point bout the call forwarding, When I called my number the person that answered said that this was her number I asked is your number 256 283 xxxx and she said yes the just gave me this number today when I got new service with them. so I really dont see how the call forward thing would have been the problem.

from his first post, i could easily gather that he had did that. no he didnt specifically say that he did, but i assumed so.

why is it when a customer has a problem on here with anyone other than sprint, most people try to blame the customer right away?

Believe it or not I have actually seen this happen, and if it's anything like what I've seen, it is an error by AT&T in the activation system.

Obviously it's not call forwarding, because the girl you spoke to said she just received that number from AT&T.

Sorry this happened, I hope they get it fixed for you.

What do you expect really? In this era of people wanting something for every single problem they have. Customer service is supposed to be better but the customers have gotten worse. Just be happy it's fixed.

Just be happy we fixed it? WTF! I mean they had to fix it, they screwed it up to start with. And what did else did I wont from them? well how about a credit on my bill for having to drive 23 miles one way to get a new sim. Gas cost over 4 a gallon and I have a SUV so that trip cost me about $10.00 and my time out of my day. I pay my bill on time every month. Here is what I think, ATT provides service to me for a fee and I pay them for it. If I am lat e I do think they charge a late fee for not doing what was I was suppose to do but when they dont do what they are suppose to do, you say just be happy we fixed it 🙄

Yup, be happy they fixed it. 18 mpg not too shabby for an SUV. Anyway, seriously be happy it's just over with. I've seen MUCH worse, stuff that lasts for days, stuff that never gets resolved. Don't worry, be happy. Write off the $10.

Whats up everyone? Long time reader first time post though. I've read plenty of post that i wanted to reply to but this is the one that i just had to. I am pretty sure all that happened is when the girl that got her new activation was in the store somehow your account was pulled up on one of their screens and they activated a new sim card on your account and then gave her the sim card. Your right this is someone else's fault but unfortunately the only way to fix the issue is to get you into a store to get a new card.
