If AT&T had a hard time finding a spot for a K850i before....

the new iPhone came out. Well, I guess there even less hope now. Why would anyone buy a phone like the V9, Z9 (btw, not that I like these phones) when the iPhone is $200?
Won't this hurt the future phone line up? If AT&T passed on the K850i for it being too expensive. What do you think is going to happen to the upcoming Xperia X1 or even the C902? (I'm sure these phone won't be available from AT&T)

the problem is that at&t is actually subsidizing the cost of the iphone. other phones they mark them up then mark down. if they would subsidize all phone equally then they would have a better mix and more of a choice of quality phones.

You are assuming the Iphone is better and has more features than those phones. It simply does not.

those who want a 5MP camera, Stereo BT headsets, SMS, 30FPS video recording and editing, Third party no cost network free GPS, PDA features like Voice memo and to do listing,JAva apps and a tactile keyboard will not choose the iphone and instead by an unlocked Sony or Nokia and gain the added benefit of 1/2 price unlimited data.....

I think ATT is doing what they should be doing. Offering phones that appeal to those who are easily taken by marketing and leaving the phones with real complete tools for those who do the research and can afford them.

Yes the only problem is that ATT is starting to do what verizon did a few years back and that is have some PDAs with on or two high end phones and the rest below par.

ATT is doing that right now, and not even doing homework, seriously release the LG Vu around the same quarter as the new iphone, that could have been the K850i, that phone at least had people interested.

Just ask Rogers (Canada), what the K850i did for them the quarter they released that phone.

It did wonders for them...

Very relevant post, because I have already had people comparing the prices of the Z9, Centro, B.Jack to the I-Phone...

I keep telling people and they seem to think its a joke...

THE UNLOCKED PHONE MARKET is on the verge of exploding.

I have the K850 and know alot of people here in Indiana, who have N95, N73, W960i..

The Interest for these phones are there, which is why Best Buy is launching unlocked mobile phone stations at their stores before next christmas....

I agree, unlocked is the only way to find a decent phone that works properly any more these days, that takes advantage of all the phones features.

Thats the way it SHOULD BE! Seperate the the phones from the Carriers. You want a "free" or "subsidized" phone take the lesser featured models.

You want a fully featured phone pony up to the bar and spend the money for a NON branded and unlocked phone. I hope ATT NEVER gets any highend product. Their CS dept could no...

Okay well I agree with you there, I will just have to suck it up and look more online for good deals on unlocked phones, you really are only paying for a phone service in the end.
