ATT buys TMO?

Just curious any thoughts on the topic. Seems feasable. The only thing is I don't know what ATT would do with the AWS spectrum. Thoughts?

I wouldn't want to deal with T-Mobile customers. They would instantly get way better coverage for their cheap-o plans, why would they want to switch to new ones then?

Anything is possible, I guess, but take this into consideration.

These days most M&A's are done for network/spectrum and business synergies. Not for the actual customer base.

That being said - AT&T has entered into deals with Tmo in the past to help supplement network/spectrum coverage. Tmo's current network as a whole does not bring a whole lot more to the table then they already have.
Not to mention, the amount of divestiture that would be required would drive down the actual value to a figure T-mo would never accept today.

Even if customer base was the main target, the amount of divestiture for overlapping markets would drive that number insanely low. Also, as someone mentioned, the ARPU of most of their base is not the best i...
