Direct Fulfillment vs. Waiting
As there doesn't seem to be any iphones at the stores, what is the difference between direct fulfillment and waiting? It seems the store people are recommending waiting instead of puting an order in. Am I missing something?
Thanks
Mark

Yes they just dont want to do the paperwork.

If you wait for a phone, its just a stroke of luck if you find one. With direct fulfillment, you get a phone shipped to your local store with your name on it. only downfalls to DF is if for some reason you find a phone in another store after yours has shipped, you get to pay a cancellation fee. Also as of right now, there is a 11 to 20 day wait on DF. orders...

thats not totally true thier is no cancelation fee cause thier is not contract done with a DF, however if you return the DF you pay a restock fee of 10%....people that did a DF on friday have been getting thier phones in the store in less then 3 business days.....as demand rises the waite gets longer

I did DF on friday and still waiting. Order status on the website says "no info blah blah blah" and I just called the store and they told me they have no info and they'll call me when they do. geez

that sucks most of the customer that I helped on friday have gotten thier Iphones.....however the black 16GB are taking longer to come in so some of my customers are still waiting
...
How do you check the status?

I ordered my white iPhone last Tuesday and got it on Friday. Direct fullfillment was much better than waiting.

Perhaps, it was the first shipment following the weekend that this particular Salem, Oregon store received.
