Technically, no. There are ways around it, but basically it boils down to the iPhone doesn't use ATT's Media Net service - this is why you can't purchase ringtones or games from ATT with the iPhone. To purchase or manage answer tones, you have to use your Media Net login information, so if your phone doesn't support media net, your SOL.

The way around it is to activate another device, such as a RAZR or something to your account, then purchase your answer tones, set them up, etc. Then when you switch back to your iPhone, they will still be there, but you won't be able to manage them unless you switch out phones again. Pain in the ass, and not really worth it if you ask me..... ☹️

What does Media net have to do with it??? I didn't use it to buy or manage mine. I do it all with my computer. Here is what I found in the att's Q&A section.......

actually the answer you got is a correct answer any phone from att can get answer tones. because they are from the network and have nothing to do with your phone. however since you cant sign into media net on your iphone you have to do it on your computer. to sign in go to this site.

if this site does not work then go to wireless.att.com and in the search bar type in media net then click on the link

Been there, done that. I actually have several friends who work in a backend tech group for ATT (they work escalated network tickets) - they are the ones who advised me it is a known issue affecting some iPhone customers.

Answer tones yes, ringtones no. The only way to create ringtones for the iPhone is through iTunes.
