msjeng74

Feb 7, 2005, 12:50 AM
I bought a z500a to Cingular and they said they don't unlock phone, i need to use the phone out of the country and use a different sim card from Phils. Is there anyone who can help me, because if i can't get it unlock, I'm considering returning the phone, although i like it so much. Please help me! I'll appreciate any help, info.

So desperate,
msjeng74 😢

They don't unlock them any further, they offer international roaming plans and discounts, if you choose not to then you don't get to use overseas, since they only offer to use it on our service, not through any other carrier's services.

Pre paid, noope won't get unlocked at all, you have to have a contract service service with either 1 year or 2 year term and that contract would have be completed to get it unlocked through Cingular

Depends, you have to return with all the original parts and accesories, original box and also your receipt, if you are missing any of that, then you own it, also any marks, scratches, scuffs, dings, then you also own it, also it depends on where you got it there are 2 types, Actual corporate stores, and authorized dealers, corp. stores 30 days, auth dealers any where from walking out of the store up to 30 days, best to look at your receipt, they usually have it on the back of it.

No they won't... Cingular does not and will not give out unlock codes. Work for us right? You would know that.

That is not the way that it is explained in the Philadelphia market... Under no circumstances do company owned retail store unlock phones... I know of places that will here... and when people need I have a guy around the corner who can, but we were always informed no.

On the orange side, I have never heard of Cingular unlocking any phone... That is where I got my information from... I work for the company and I went to visit family in Greece and asked if I could get it done on my V400 and I was told no way no how... So speaking from experience, is how I state it... I am also told that I should be able to do other things with the companies but when no one knows how to do them, they don't get done.

because he was buying a pre-paid and wants to use it over seas in the next couple of days, and you have to have with pre-paid 90 days continous service, i beleive he got pre paid just for that reason ot use it right away, so whats the point if he's gotta wait 3 months?

Here😛olicy on Subsidy Lock/Unlock Code

The Subsidy Unlock Code (also known as the SIM Unlock Code) is unique to each device and functions as a "lock", so the device will only accept a Cingular (or other specific carrier) network Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. Cingular subsidy locks their handsets in order to recover subsidy costs and to control theft of devices. The following information outlines the policy for requesting a device Subsidy Unlock Code.

The unlock code process should only be handled by Tier 2 technical support representatives. Incorrect entry of an unlock code 5 times during the life of the phone will permanently disable the unlock ability.
Cingular can only unlock Cingular devices and not those of other car...

As long as it has been used for cingular yes. You need ppd for 90 days then they will let you, or a customer who has had ppd for a long while and get someone to switch your imei #'s on the account then have them call and get it unlocked that one may or may not work. Or if you bought it used and the previose owner paid off his account yes. If you have bought it outright with it never being activated in our system then no Hope this is the answer you have been looking for
Thanks
