So I work in a small little town for at a at&t authorized retailer. Now I have been working here for over a year. Big chance I will be moving soon to a bigger city and state. What is the chance of me being able to work in a corporate store? I love the cell phone industry and I dont want to change, so anyone that works in a corporate store, whats the change of hiring someone who worked in a authorized retailer store?

Thanks

i also work for att authorized retailer but as far as getting hired at a corporate store it should not be to hard at all they are always looking for new people with experience. I had one of my employees leave and go to a corporate store back in november they hired her pretty quick and she has been there ever since. So i dont forsee it to be a problem at all for you to get a job there

hope that helps

Usually, the COR stores do most of their hiring through the website. If you go to www.att.com and look on careers, there should be listings for the city you are going to and you can apply there.

I know there is a rule where they won't hire you until six months after you stop working for an AT&T agent. But then again I know of situations where they have overlooked the rule.

Market Specific. No formal 'rule'. coming from another market/state will not be problem

Why would you not want to work for another retailer?

Just remember it is a different animal. I recently had one of my regional managers go to work for them as a rep. He was number one in his store in several major metrics but the atmosphere was clicky and toxic. Because of his instant success and work ethic other entrenched employees looked to use the "report" lines to knock him down (basicaly because he made them look bad because they were complacent and he busted his a$$). He is a smart guy and left for less money in another industry.

Obviously this is not the case everywhere but if you work hard you will be much closer to ownership in an agent and therefore will be much more appreciated for your efforts.

Good luck.
