A question for AT&T employees

I'm considering applying with AT&T. The company I'm at just does not listen or care and am currently working at least 50 hours a week. I sales experience, just not with cell phones. What is AT&T like to work for? What type of positions are available? Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Good luck.

A great friend just resigned from corporate. He was #1 in accessories, parent products, opportunities, up there in features and had the best commission check in the store (he was there about 2 full months). He was also making everyone else look bad because of his effort. Guess what, the other employees tried to get him fired for every little thing. His manager and regional had his back but the toxic environment was not for him.

Good luck working in a Union.

Unions in general do nothing but protect the lazy, and punish the motivated. I worked in a union environment previously in which the company wanted to put pictures of the employee of the month in the breakroom - the union challenged it, saying that by putting it in the break room, they considered less successful employees seeing other more successful employees posted right in front of them on their breaks "psychologically damaging". wow.

Unions typically only form because the employer abuses the employees. Given my current employers, I understand the need for the formation of unions, however there are many examples of union abuses as well.

I don't feel pity for the extreme union companies. If those companies had been ethical and fair from the beginning it wouldn't be a problem. Those employees who work for fair employers, like Tex, will never have reason to unionize. Therefore the only people being hurt by union abuses are the companies that began by abusing their employees.

It is what you make it.
I've managed an indirect Alltel location, and am currently with an indirect Verizon "Premium" location. My local AT&T corporate store found my resume on CareerBuilder.com, and contacted me accordingly. I honestly liked what they had to say: They back their employees, offer great benefits, pay pretty well, and offer a professional work environment. The biggest things for me: AT&T offers MANY places to go within the company should you want to make a career of it; AT$T invests some money into its corporate employees (as do most Corp. sides) via training.
I understand that someone will always have something negative to add where you and I would put a positive, but it really comes down to making what you wish out o...
