What happened Nokia???

Ten years ago , I owned probably 5 or 6 Nokia Phones. Never looked at any other brand. Now Nokia all seems to be $500.00 phones and ATT rarely carries any of the phones. I usually buy off of the Net and never from ATT, but lately I can't seem to consider them due to the price. Where did Nokia go wrong.

You may want to ask this this in the Nokia forum, as it pertains more toward Nokia than at&t.

Nah, it also pertains to ATT's REFUSAL to carry Nokia's BEST handsets, such as N95 😈 👿

I feel the same way concerning their HTC handsets. Other carriers tend to have more of them.

Such as? Going all the way back to the 8125, 8525, 8925, and soon ATT will be releasing the Touch Pro. I haven't heard anything about ATT putting out a Touch Diamond, but I don't like devices that have internal memory only and not a microsd slot also.

Personally, I like the S740, But it lacks ATT 3G bands.

You got a point. I'm all for the memory slot. My gripe is that the Tild only had a usb cord and a charger, when all the other carrier's version of that phone came with everything (headphones, case, splitter, etc....).

Oh, I didn't know that. Ah, the headphones and case that comes in the box suck anyway. Especially the case.

Thus are the reasons I prefer unlocked/unbranded phones. Carriers need to bug out of meddling with phones! ! ! ! !

I did research on that. That, and I've tried the Wing & Mogul; and they came fully loaded. The Mogul even had a 512MB card.

Nokia has gone down hill. I don't like any of their current phones. I used to love just their basic line up of easy to use candy bar phones. I had used them for year because they always lasted forever, and they had excellent signal too.

Now, the phones are all buggy, the menus are super slow and many of them have demo games you cannot delete even though it eats up so much of your memory causing the phone to slow down.

Even the expensive ones are not impressive. I now have a Motorola RAZR phone, and it is the best phone I've ever owned to date. It has exceptional signal, and the RF is a lot lower then the Nokias: the RAZR gets .89W/Kg, now that is impressive!

I don't like how at&t doesn't include radio with any of them anymore, except for the 6085.

Nokia markets inexpensive phones to emerging markets and feature-rich multimedia and business class phones to mature markets like the U.S.
Personally, I think the E71 at $420, the E51 at $260 and the 6120 at $230 are good values.
