Thank you for your patience! An AT&T sales representative will be with you shortly.

You are now chatting with Tona, an AT&T sales representative.

Tona: Welcome to AT&T online Sales support. How may I assist you with placing your order today?

andrew: i have a question

Tona: Great! I'd be happy to help you with that.

andrew: i am looking between you and verizon for a pc card, why should i choose you over them? i noticed your covarage is very small.

Tona: Only AT&T has Rollover, the ability to keep your unused minutes each month. We offer a vastly superior network as we have the best audio quality in the markets we serve. We...

VZW has 3G in more places. ATT sucks and there broadband card does too. Plus VZW runs on a more secure network. The 727 or um175 are great broadband cards on the VZW network. I would not even consider ATT.

I want to ditch AT&T and go to Verizon! I think paying higher prices for the same service is much much better! Can I pay even more with Verizon, OH PLEASE?!

Oh I know, I am just goofing on you. I think it's nice you like Verizon. I like Verizon due to their enormous coverage, and I am thinking about switching if they come out with a phone I like next year. Their voice plans are no different than AT&T in cost, but you get the coverage.

AT&T is still paying for all these mergers from 2004-2007 so they don't have much money set aside for building more towers, plus GSM does not have the footprint as CDMA, but it would have if Verizon chose to do GSM over CDMA.

Uh-huh. That would qualify you as a troll.

I like both Verizon and AT&T, but hands down, Verizon does have better coverage for voice plans, although their data packages are hefty, sheesh!

I'm not a customer service representative, but I can refer you to an article printed in the May 13th issue of Computerworld. They tested the 3G broadband services from AT&T, Sprint and Verizon.

Some key quotes:

"In tests, AT&T's network left its competitors in the digital dust."

"All the cellular data networks are reasonably fast (although AT&T pretty much swept the field)."

The article had a little chart showing their test results. I suck at making charts so I am going to just list the results:

Peak Download Speed
ATT 1.6 Mbit/sec
Sprint 1.2 Mbit/sec
Verizon 1.3 Mbit/sec

Average Download Speed
ATT 755 Kbps
Sprint 494 Kbps
Verizon 592 Kbps

Average Upload Speed
ATT 484 Kbps
Sprint 294 Kbps
Verizon 232 Kb...
