What exactly is Java?
OMG I can't beleive this happened to ME! I had this customer who called me to ask me what Java was. And I just went blank, I have a basic idea of what it is, but for some reason I just could'nt put it on words to her. I felt so stupid... so I transferred her to cust care; she also wanted to cancel one line....

JAVA is a coding language used to make programs. I haven't played with it in about 5 years, but I definitely remember writing scripts and then compiling them into a .jar file. So... to avoid confusing the customer when they ask just keep it simple. "JAVA is a coding language used to write programs." Avoid using pronouns, and if they ask about what a "coding language" is you should probably sigh and say "Computer guts".
