FREE ringtones for MP3 phones!

calsk8in

Feb 16, 2005, 6:21 PM
Ive had many differnt phones, and the Z500 is by far the best phone i've had. The internal screen is awsome,games,MP3 ringtones. The size of the phone could have been smaller, but im a guy so it doesnt really matter.

the only con on this phone is that is some times acts like its thinking when you try to call or you try to get out of an app. to fast, only a couple of secs. though.

I also found a way to download MP3 tones for FREE. Go and log in to cingularme.com. Open a second screen and go to walmart.com. Right click on a Mp3 shortcut and copy shortcut. go back to cingularme.com and paste, then just send. when received on phone. scoll down till the link in highlighted and press open.and it will download automaticly.

Are you kidding me? When ATTWs was and is doing it, they made a small fortune on it, thats why they gave 5kb per month for free in case of accidental pressing, the truth is that its Monster Cash, they used to block, they recently changed the Data packages to NOW include the pay per usage of 3 cents per kb,which will reep much money!!

True BUT they will eventually put a hurt on Cingular ringtones Just like years ago with 2thumbswap.com they eventually had to begin chargeing for tones just like all the other "free" sites. Thats waht I ment. Cingular will make a foutune but at the same time will loose money

calsk8in only gave half the instructions...they've been posted so many times on here but i'm too lazy to dig it up, so here you go...

Go to walmart.com...click music...find whatever cd/song you want. Next each track (if available) is a little blue link that says "MP3 sample" or something like that. Right click...copy shortcut.

Go to www.cingular.com/sendamessage In the "to" box put your phone number, in the from box put whatever you want.

NOW, IMPORTANT, in the main body box type ANYTHING..i usually type the name of the song...and THEN paste the link you had copied. It wont work if you just paste the link. You have to type SOMETHING in the box before you paste the link.

Oh yea, then click send.

On a z500, when you get th...

When you go on the website, you right click the link for the mp3 and go down to properties. Once that's up highlight the link and then either email it to yourself or text it to yourself from www.cingular.com/sendamessage

But just reember 1 BIG THING, the aerage mp3 ringtones approx 200-250 kb, in data transfer to download, since mp3 tones have much more detail and more clear, so unless you have a data pakage, that to download "FREE TONES" you spend at 3 cents per kb about $6.00 to $7.50 in kilobyte usage, so i hope you either got a good data package or you like that tone or tones a whole lot, since it will get expensive real quick!!!!!

Well tonnes of reent migrations from blue to orange would not take a package, and based on the average customer on the orange service tends not to either, there are some exceptions, but i find the majority just have the service for phone service ,and when they do the download on a PPU basis, that really adds up, and call in "IR SAID IT WAS FREE, but I got charged on my bill, there must be an error!!" is the common response we get in care!!!
