Tethering question

Correction

Feb 16, 2005, 9:08 PM
With Cingulars Media Net feature for $24.99, does that include when you use tethering(sp) or is there a different more expensive feature to hook up your phone as a wireless modem?

I prefer an anwser from a CSE rep or orange care.

Thanks!

if you mean using your cell as a dial-up modem, no, since you're using your minutes, not a datastream. Get an Unlimited N&W plan and use it 9PM-6AM.

A little clarification if your going to use a dial up and using another IP then it would use minutes if you use us as your IP it uses the Data connect; and as miss steel said the unlimited data connect is 79.99

no it won't because media works is only for going on the internet from your phone.mainly media net and sports updates and a few other sites.

Nope... Won't work because the MEdia bundles are for wap usage (handset only).

How the heck do they filter that stuff out? I've been wondering on that for over a year. I haven't looked into it, but I've wondered. Does it simply block everything that isn't a wap page or is it much more complicated?

To be honest, I don't know how they filter it... I just know that it doesn't work... I have tried for some of my "better" customers and came up with nothing.

It's not so much as filtering as how the cell is used. All the cell's being used for is a dial-up modem by the laptop. It's not being 'networked' to 'share' the WAP browser on the cell phone. Best explanation I can come up with there...

No, it doesn't work. Completely two different systems. Two different worlds. Japanese vs English, Mac vs Windows. Get the drift? 🙂
