I've already been on the horn with Sony Ericsson and our guys awhile about it. From what SE says, the manufacturers aren't the ones locking the phones it's the carriers. Our Tech guys say they can do it, and are supposed to do it, only the big guys upstairs haven't told them how to do it yet.

I think they were only given this responsibility on the 14th, so it's not too much of a delay but it's still a bother for everyone left out of the loop, including the Tech guys who have to deal with it.

if someone meets the qualifications in csp and they've been waiting for teir 2 to do it for a while you can get manager appproval to give them the code. its in snooper under the utilties tab. just input the imei and it'll give you the code

Wow, thanks for the info. I'm assuming Tier 2 has access to snooper too? Maybe I can just call them back and tell them where to look?

more than likely they know about it already. but like i said make sure its only in extreme cases and you have sup approval

Tier 2 tech support does know the procedures on how to get the unlock code and the instructions on how to enter the code. Yes there is a tab in snooper that allows you to put the IMEI number in to get the unlock code but this only works about 30% of the time. If the customer does meet the qualifications then contact your tier 2 and they should beable to get this processed for you.
