I know that we have the Siemens SX66 which I think is great... Pretty comparable... Have you seen or tried that one?

LetsTalk.com has it for $199. With new Blue service.

Letstalk.com from my experience, not very reputable.... Just my experience... But on the otherside, I understand the price difference. Have you tried picking one up on ebay?

Thought about that. I understand it's possible to get one "unlocked", although comparing Let's Talk and an eBay seller, they both make me equally nervous... shame Cingular isn't carrying that phone at their corporate stores.

I know it stinks... Have you looked at any other PDA like devices?

Yeah, sort of a PDA junkie. I have a T-Mobile Sidekick II (love it) and a Sprint Treo 600 (like it).

The plan was to sell the Treo and get something a little smaller more phone-like, that had great Smartphone capabilities when I'm away from T-Mobiles (admittedly, limited) network.

Would prefer EDGE, HTML, and Mac-friendly. Realizing I'll do good to get two out of three.

To be honest I don't know about Mac-friendly, but if you liked the TREO 600, have you seen the 650 because it is hot... And 10x better than the 600 ever could have been. Upgraded camera, EDGE, bluetooth, long battery and from what I have been experiencing, much better battery.

The other phone that makes sense, except it's just frigging butt-ugly, is the Nokia 6620.

So, with GSM phones, I can literally just swap SIM cards, and boom, I'm using my phone on the Cingular network?

No special programming or "turning on" required? As long as the phone isn't locked onto another network?

Forgive me, relatively new to GSM.

Then somebody needs to tell the reseller web sites to stop selling Blue service.

Those reller sites are doing that trying to dump their stock of leftover phone on any poor bastard- sorry not being personal, thats nuts enough to buy one, problem is when they sell it to you, they first will order you it out, then say unfortunately that service is no longer available, then they charge you back for full regular price, then on top of all that won't take it back since their policy is you bought you own it, there is no regund policy since the key is indirect dealer, trying to dump old devices for whatver cash they can get
