I have not read any single good thing to come from a shine, and I thought it was just me. Everyone has had the same issues I have had. It would have been such a good phone if it actually worked properly.
But man was that reception just simply horrid.

I had one of the first Shines out, I loved the thing. Reception wasn't as good as some phones but in no way did I think it horrid, I may not have five bars but it's not like I have no service. Battery wasn't great but it lasted for as long as it was rated. Considering the sales, I call it a success on LGs end.

Well I have disagree, I would lose signal in the woodlands, texas which has a strong HSDPA coverage. At my house, I would get a text, then try and reply, and would have to exit out of the message screen, then go back into it and then reply on the text, because my reception would be back by that time. I had no problem with my RAZR, and if that is a success on LGs end, then they are setting the bar at a very low level.
plus my slider broke without dropping it or aggressive use, and it would freeze up constantly.

I haven't had customer complaints on it. People have and still do like it.

As with most things, the OP is one of those customers that may have gotten a lemon, and makes the assumption that all of the liek devices are bad. Overall, most of my customers have been happy with the phone, despite the fact that it is an LG. Now the Vu, on the other hand....

I think the OP is a sales rep commenting on their customer feedback. It's peculiar for models not to perform well regionally, but I've seen it happen before.
Sony T226, I'll never forget ye.

Agreed. It's a good seller up here and I rarely have one come back with issues.

I never returned mine though, mine broke at around 35 days after I got it, so I went through AT&T and they said I would have to wait for a new phone, or get a SLIM so me being stupid chose the SAMSUNG, and well, I have been buying unlocked since.
and its not just me, everyone that had the phone that I socialized with had the same issues minus the hinge breaking, we got them from different stores though, same reception issues when our other phones worked fine.
I made the mistake of getting the phone first so I didn't have a frame of reference.
We should have returned our phones earlier but not to be a snob, but a few hundred bucks isn't a big issue to us so it wasn't like we were pressed for cash and needed a phone right of way, i ...

I have sold literally hundreds of these phones (especially after it went BOGO). The return rate on it was negligible. Those that came back were due to the signal strength not being satisfactory.

Well, that is kind of my beef with the phone, I wasn't in that bad of an area for phone use. My RAZR worked fine, my SE K850i is just fine here, that phone was junk, and froze up, and had no signal at all.
but this has just been my opinion from the start.
I never returned mine to the store either, I dont' know if that counts, i just sent it back to ATT and got back a SAMSUNG, yay (mock enthusiasm).
But that was just too many LGs that worked like crap on two different carriers.
