Hey Everyone,

My name is Sean, Im a Super Happy Cingular Customer and Employee in the Orange Call Center. I've been going to Phone Scoop for the last few months after discovering this website after being hired by Cingular and I always go the the Threads and I finally decided to join the party. Here are my thoughts on Cingular in general since Im a Customer and Employee.

I was a former AT&T Wireless Customer and when I switched to Cingular before the big merger 6 months ago I was just amazed in my house that hardly got reception I get clear landline reception and had hardly gotten any dropped calls. I've been everywhere in California and never had any problem with service or roaming.

correct me if im wrong, but dont tmobile and cingular have some kind of joint opperating aggreement in cali? wouldnt that make their coverage the same? so the only difference would be rollover, mobile to mobile calling to 5-6 times as many people as t mobile. hmmm... sounds like tmobile sure has an advantage. 🙄

What's the point of having unlimited anything if most of time you get no signal and can't use your phone? Just cuz Paris Hilton and Snoop Dog use T-Mobile doesn't mean it's better than Cingular. They don't get the 49.1 Million Mobile to Mobile Free Calling or the Rollover but I guess they can pay more for worst service and don't mind.

You are right and with that said, you should realize that T-Mobile does not always cover what people need as well. You want to badger Cingular for using coverage as means to sell over T-Mobile, and you want to glorify T-Mobile for having more minutes... In my experience of being in the business for over five years now, you can't have it both ways. The lowest in minutes always tends to be the smallest network (which you should agree that Tmobile is the smallest of the nationwide carriers) and the less minutes per dollar normally mean a larger coverage area. NOW that does not mean that TMobile necessarily has bad service where ever you go on their network, it just means that they have less. Get my point?

The people in this forum like Cingular, in most cases, and if we didn't we might very well be in the T-Mobile forum. My point is you said that opinions are like &*^%$#@% and you are right, mine can't be the same as your. Icyhot's does not have to be the same as yours... Why don't you just drop the fact that T-Mobile has more minutes.... You have made your point, and this is something that we all know. We still feel, that even though we may pay more money, that we still like CINGULAR better. Can't you understand that?

But on a scale of what people want... They want reliability. And most people don't see reliability on a map that is that much smaller than the coverage of most of the other nationwide players. Also, the people that do care about getting "oodles of minutes" do tend to get T-Mobile. Kids, teenagers and young adults do all the time. I see it everyday, but the ones looking for reliability, I see ports come in my store or my best friends store, who works for VzW and say that their T-Mobile phones are not as reliable as they would like and try our services and stick with it BECAUSE IT IS WHAT WORKS FOR THEM. Yes... I used it when my brother and I lived together... As silly as it sounds, he and I got the Tmobile as a house line, even though I was working for Cingular my employee plan only had 1000 minutes a month and that wasn't covering us for the days. Anyway, we cancelled it and paid termination because no matter where we went it did not work. For me... There are other people that I know that have it and love it. I never once did not bring up the point that you have more minutes. I agree... You are right, BUT I do believe that in my area Cingular is hands down better than any other carrier and I speak from experience of selling all of other companies in the past and from being a consumer on SPRINT T-Mobile Nextel and Verizon. MY OPINION is that Cingular is better and I will defend that in my area... I can't speak on yours because you are not here..

Do you get off on starting fights? You got what works best for you. Good for you. Cingular works best for other people, and so on.

Not flaming like some others are in here, but the fact that T-mobile offers more minutes for less costs in simple economics.

Think of it this say that TMO takes in 2 million a monthfor their service fees(NO real facts, just for math purposes) now they pay out say 750,000 to cingular for maintainig the network, and pay 500,000 tho their staff and employees, and 250,000 for all other costs, they make profit, cuz they have less to spend.

Now TMO offers better price points and more minutes, because they can afford to. They spend no REAL Money to maintain a network, they "rent" space from Cingular's network, so like any "tenant' TMO pays rental fees, but the Super- like in any rental agreement HAs to maintain the network since a tenant does...

Fact is, Tmo has less coverage and can offer a person better pricing plans..if they were comparable to Cing in coverage and STILL had the same pricing plans, Cing would go out of business because everyone would switch to Tmo..see my point??

Alright. I never said you couldn't express your opinion, just the way you were expressing it made it sound like you were looking for a fight. No harm done.

I work for a Cingular call center as well.

Personally, I'm happy with my other wireless provider. I would never swith to Cingular. After working with them and seeing how we must treat some customers and the newly changed rate plans, it's not worth it đŸ‘ŋ

Let me ask you this than... How we treat the customer? Have you ever worked for another wireless company? And you are the one treating them that way if you work there... In my honest opinion, our customer service ratings are made by us. There is not one customer that walks away from me angry (I work in a company owned retail store in Deptford, New Jersey right now). Okay, well from time to time, but that is because there is no w...
