Direct bill charges

I purchased a few things off of mediaNet and then my phone malfunctioned, I tried doing the challenging thing and it only gave me 2 refunds, but I bought over 30 dollars worth! Can I call customer care and ask for some refunds or credits on the items that i could not challenge? It is a legit reason, I had to do a warranty exchange.

you could call. they might if you press hard enough. won't hurt to try. the worst they can do is say no.

what usually works for me when i have to call places is to throw in the words "as a courtesy". usually works for me.

There isn't anything to dispute. Plumey downloaded some features, and was charged for them.

His/her issue was that if the phone those features were DLed to is not longer usable, should a refund be issued?

Personally, I would say no. None of the charged are fraudulent or misrepresented. Yes it is unfortunate that the phone is no longer usable, but unless downloading the features directly caused the problems and are clearly the carrier's fault, then I don't think anything should be refunded.

That's just my feelings on the issue, though.

no no no, downloading them did not cause the problem, maybe i was unclear. i downloaded them, and then a few days later, my phone malfunctioned for some reason or another. thats why i want a refund, cuz it wasnt my fault

On the flip side and I know that this sounds mean, which I don't like to be... It's not Cingular's fault either... See the downloads that you get from MEdiaNet are from a company called infospace mobile, so we still get charged.. The defective phone would be the manufacturer's fault... I know it is kinda harsh, but it's the truth at least.

Unfortunately, they are right, if you read the Ringtones & Graphics faq page, it says they are not transferable from phone to phone and you will not be give credit on them. One thing you can do is to use MMS and actually email everything you download to a PC that way you have everything backed up. I have all my ringtones, graphics and phonebook contacts on my home computer that way I can just upload to a new phone if need be.

check CSP for XBM policy and procedure. there is a provision in direct bill charges for those who have had to replace a phone through XBM.
