1. Indirect dealers able to service accounts nationally. (In a city like LA this is huge.) Feb 1st

2. Being first to lower media max plan to $30. (Usually they are always followers.)

3. Picking up Direct TV in place of Dish. (Dish sucks).

4. Making unlimited family texting $10 per line instead of $30 for any number of users.

Thoughts???

Also anyone know why my favorite phone to sell (LG CU515) is being discontinued. Now what am I going to sell to those who just make calls and nothing else?

1. Indirects were able to do this as of November for us.

2. Verizon does have this at $30 already.

3. Not in my area anyway, assholes.

4. I believe the way this works is IF you have the $30 package you can add Media Net Unlimited to each line for $10 each. And think of it this way, say I have 5 lines, now it's $50?!

And your favorite phone was on closeout months ago for us, it's been on closeout since at least this past summer, we had the thing Christmas 07. And as far as just calls that phone did many more things, just like every other phone we carry. The Shine does the same thing it just slides. Sell them on a RIM device, it does have the best call quality available.

West coast is late on everything huh. Old people don't do slides and really won't touch anything with more than 10 buttons. I hope the nokia 6650 goes down in cost.

Yea, I am sorry to see the CU515 go away. It was one of my favorite phones to sell too. We have an older clientele and if they want something better than the Nokia 2600 or 6085, all we have to show them are the Pantech Breeze, the Samsung A237 (Yuck) and the 515. I am hoping that LG will come back out with another basic phone that ATT will pick up.

You are correct on #4 however if you have a PDA you still have to pay $30, also I think it is a mistake getting rid of the media basic and media works, now we don't have an option for customers to have some media with their messaging. Also 1mb of media net is expired. Now customers have only option of 200, 1500 or unlimted sms no inbetween the 200 to 1500.

Where are you guys getting your info? Is there any actual statement saying they are changing the available features for Medianet or Text messaging. I would think we would be updated about this kind of thing, and I haven't heard a word.
Any place to find an official update?
And idea of when its supposed to happen, if at all?
And I'm with ya on the CU515, easy as pie to sell, and the plum sealed the deal for the chicas.

All MEdia Bundle plans were retired effective January 25, 2009. They are now just called Data plans. The $10/month Family Data Unlimited applies per line, does require “Family Messaging” on the account (if not, there is still the $15/line Data Unlimited plan), adn does nto have to be added to all lines on a FT plan.
