Help!!! v551 Charge Lasts 1 Day...
OMG_I've been getting the go around from Cingular and Motorola on the battery life of v551 for past 2 wks. No one admitting battery life sucks. Can you tell me more. Example: I fully charge the phone, made a 38 min. and 21 min. call. It goes low batt on me by 10:30pm and dies. [BTW_full bars on reception, live in a metro area.] I can't trust the reliability phone will be there when I need it. I could do 2 days of long calls on my Nokia 3560 before even charging. Husband and son have same prob w/ v551. Son lives in another town so it's not our location. I'm still w/in 30 days and thinking of having Cingular give me a good old reliable Nokia. Love v551 features, but need reliability. Comments??? Help??? Suggestions???

My V551 lasts almost 3 days of regular use. I dont know what to tell you. Try changing the battery. I love my V551. Also a guy once told me that when you charge your phone you have to plug the phone to the charger and then lastly plug it on the wall, doing it other the other way damages the battery. (a short or something -that's what he said-) I dont know how true this is, but i always charge my phone that way....

I do charge the phone exactly as you stated, it even states it in the manual. Can all three of us have bad batteries? I really want to keep the V551, but I've got to solve this problem.

Maybe unfortunatelly you got some from a not-so-good shipment. Who knows, if you check in the V551 forum people had the same problem with the battery, hopefully changing it will fix your problem too...

Ok, I'll call Cingular and ask them to send new battery. "V551 Forum"? Is that a posting (thought I went thru most of these before posting my question), or an actual separate Forum. Where can I find that? Thanks.

In the blue colum on the left side of your screen, click "PHONES", then select "MOTOROLA." Look for the v551, click it, and choose the FORUMS tab at the top of the page

make sure your bluetooth is turned off. this takes extra battery life and tends to make your phone need charging more often. this may not be the issue but something you can try

let the phone go completely dead three times and fully charge after each time. next go into your settings and toggle gprs on only when needed. next go to your screen display time and the brightness. adjust all that and you should see a significant difference in battery life

turning of the sevice light (if there is one) will notice a change in battery life.....also if you are HEAVILY USING BLUETOOH then that is your problem

OMG! You've got either a defective phone or a defective battery! If you bought the phone in the last 30 days, you might want to contact your point of sale and return it!!
